“Lord, you have always been our eternal home,
our hiding place from generation to generation.
Long before you gave birth to the earth
and before the mountains were born,
you have been from everlasting to everlasting,
the one and only true God.”
Psalm 90:1-2, Passion
When a dude like Moses steps up and begins to speak, we listen. Few can lay claim to his depth of fellowship with the Father. A long and incredible history of walking with the Almighty boils down to a few melodious lines, leaving us with a timeless Psalm filled with the wisdom of Godly experience.
This matchless patriarch of faith has so much to say in the 27 verses of the 90th Psalm. I want to bring home to the heart just one of two thoughts that sparked in my mind as I was reading this morning.
God existed before all other things. He is from eternity to eternity.
The earth was ‘born’. It did not appear by some cosmic accident. It is not the culmination of a trillion genetic spasms.
It is the brain and heart child of love! This planet that we live on, these seas that we sail, these skies through which we soar, these stars that dwarf our grandest moments – He made them all!
The tinest atom is the work of his hand. The mountains that claim our awe and wonder – Papa formed each one of them by the breath of his mouth.
He spoke, and they became.
All the foolish talk of ‘science-so-called’ and the evolutionary lie that so pervades our culture is heartbreaking. People are relegated to the top of a death-pile, set apart from the rest of life’s accident only by a bigger brain and a few evolutionary lucky breaks.
Yet not one shred of actual evidence can be offered to definitively prove such unscientific bunkum.
One would image, for example, that had all the complex life we enjoy today resulted from innumerable small changes over vast eons of time, that we would be overrun with transitionary fossils.
Even Darwin, the chief proponent and arguably the originator of the theory of evolution was perplexed. In 1859, Charles Darwin wrote his book, ‘The Origin of Species’. In that book he asked a pertinent question.
“Why, if species have descended from other species by insensibly fine gradations, do we not everywhere see innumerable transitional forms?”
Surely evidence in the fossil record would be present if his theory were true, but it is simply not there. In fact, the fossil record blatantly contradicts the idea of an evolutionary tree from simple to complex forms.
Why is this startling lack of proof not pointed out in our schools and colleges?
I think the answer is found in Romans chapter 1:
“…men in their wickedness repress and hinder the truth and make it inoperative.” (Romans 1:18 AMP)
To challenge the holy decrees of this godless theory is to blaspheme the very foundations of the religion its proponents press into the minds of our youth. The untested and tenuous tenets of the evolutionary faith are shamefully proclaimed as watertight science when they are nothing more than a flimsy man-centered religion.
Our Papa gave birth to the earth by the breath of His mouth. Words flowed from his infinite being and brought the finite universe into glorious array. Antagonists would deny such, calling it a fairytale, all the while holding to their own fabricated history of origins.
I’m right here beside Darwin saying, “Show me the proof!”
Where are the multitude of fossils that have been discovered in the last 160 years that back this revolutionary idea that we are here by fortunate accident?
One or two excuses for such evidence has been offered, small shards of hope to buoy up the lie, but even renowned evolutionists such as the late Dr. Colin Patterson, who for many years was the senior paleontologist (fossil expert) at the prestigious British Museum of Natural History, are forced to concede.
In response to questions concerning his book, ‘Evolution’, Dr. Patterson excused the lack of actual illustrations of the fossils one would expect if the theory he so vociferously defended for so many years were true:
‘I fully agree with your comments on the lack of direct illustration of evolutionary transitions in my book. If I knew of any, fossil or living, I would certainly have included them. You suggest that an artist should be used to visualise such transformations, but where would he get the information from? I could not, honestly, provide it, and if I were to leave it to artistic licence, would that not mislead the reader?’
He went on to say:
‘Yet Gould [Stephen J. Gould—the now deceased professor of paleontology from Harvard University] and the American Museum people are hard to contradict when they say there are no transitional fossils. … You say that I should at least “show a photo of the fossil from which each type of organism was derived.” I will lay it on the line—there is not one such fossil for which one could make a watertight argument.’
Not one such fossil!
But the proofs of our God’s work among His people, and His reality in the lives of multitudes of His children are without count.
If change is what you want, don’t look to the theory of incremental upward deviations in genetics leading from one form of life to some other – the reality is that evolution is a dead-in-the-water lie.
Instead, look to the Change-maker. The everlasting God who transforms people from the inside out. The One and only true God of creation, and the re-creator of new life. The mountain-making, earth-turning, miracle-working Father who loves you and is reaching out to your spirit right now!
“Papa, all creation sings your praises and speaks of your genius. How anyone could not perceive your hand in the wonder of the eye, or the miracle of the ear, is beyond reason. The intricate workings of nature, the hanging balance of the planets. All are the singing proclamation of your goodness and provision! My heart rejoices and my mind is satisfied by your explanation of my origin. I love you, and with each breath want to be reminded of your creative hand on my life.”
“Child, it is a delight to enjoy this creation with you. My hand formed you in the womb, and also formed the starry heavens. Each atom pulses with my supernatural life, and my words continue to create and display my worth throughout the universe. I am so glad that you enjoy it – it was made for your pleasure. I created it all for us to share as a family. And this, child, is just the beginnings of my wonders. I have so much more for you to discover. This short pilgrimage through time is merely a doorway that will lead you to endless wonders.”
