“O my Strength, I sing with joy your praises.
O my Stronghold, I sing with joy your song!
O my Savior, I sing with joy the lyrics of your faithful love for me!”
I love these words, and even more so the heart behind them. Consider that they were uttered when the composer’s enemies were literally knocking down his door intending to kill him, and you get a sense of the depth of his revelation of God’s protection. David, a man after God’s own heart.
Notice too, the shining facets of God’s personality and redemption he extols. It is as if he has joined the swirling cheribim circling the throne of God. With every revolution a new aspect of God’s glory is opened to his eager eyes. Strength! Stronghold! Savior!
We could continue…
Healer! Redeemer! Ransom!
Deliverer! Lover! Friend!
Carer! Creator! King!
When we praise something happens.
We are introduced to ever deeper intimacy with the Godhead. The aspects of glory are endless, infinite as He Himself is.
He reveals Himself to his worshippers, and our comprehension of his endless worth is expanded every time we worship.
How can anyone be bored or grow familiar with worship? Yet it happens. We settle for a dreary, dutiful Sunday ritual, instead of a dynamic daily engagement with Heaven.
Let’s get real. We are all guilty of forgetting just how magnificent our Papa really is.
Yet here He is, waiting for heartfelt worship so he can show us more of his wonders. No barrier but our own passivity stands between you and your next encounter. Jesus is ready to receive you, to usher you into heavenly places and show you the Father. The Godhead’s embrace awaits.
When we recognize the One we serve, the One who saved us, it is impossible not be moved to explosive praise.
Shouts of joy.
Spontaneous overflowing unashamed utterance.
Living streams from deep to deep, pouring praise on the only One worthy, and here in the deluge of His love and grace we stand thoroughly washed.
Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise Him!
“Papa, Son and Holy Ghost, you are utterly magnificent. Brilliant! Beautiful! Glorious! Spendid! Excellent! Marvellous! Astonishing! Eminent! Dazzling! Amazing! Unusual! Astounding! Wondrous! Fascinating! Extraordinary! Remarkable! Mind-blowing! Heart-Beating! Exceptional! Captivating! Worthy! Pure! Perfect! Powerful! Supreme! Almighty! Omnipotent!”
“Child, thank you. But you ain’t seen nothin’ yet! ????”
