Unless you want to be a diplomat or a politician, don’t you dare santise your words to please people. Powerless, insipid words carry zero power!
I would much rather 1 page of passion than a thousand of perfection! Perfectly formed and punctuated prose may be good for some, but it is the visceral spiritual nature of words that give them the ability to change lives.
I love the Lord’s strong encouragment in Deuteronomy:
“And these words which I am commanding you this day shall be first in your own minds and hearts; then you shall whet and sharpen them so as to make them penetrate…” (Deuteronomy 6:6–7 AMP)
Words from the heart whetted and sharpened to penetrate and touch the inner man have a supernatural power that invokes a response that leads to transformation.
I believe in aggresive communication. Not in a rude way, or an offensive and unmannerly fashion, but in a way that shakes off the dust of political correctness and gets to the guts of a subject.
Henry David Thoreau was right when he said, “The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation”. The same of true of frustrated, unfulfilled women. We all know we are called to a higher purpose! Let’s live it UNASHAMEDLY.
Be a VOICE
As an author your purpose is to be a VOICE not an ECHO. Quit reverberating the world’s low opinions of self and sacrifice, and set yourself apart as someone who believes that ALL THINGS REALLY ARE POSSIBLE.
How in the world can we change the world if we simply spend our days repeating it’s helpless mantra? We come with a gospel that screams from the rooftops, not whimpers under a bush or a burden. We are free men and women, called to make words shape worlds!
God did not use reason to throw the far reaches of the galaxy into existence, He used fiery words of creative faith. You are a child in His radical image, called to do the same. Don’t be silenced by your own inner critic. Keep writing without fear and flood the earth with the overflow of a heart dedicated to the call of God to create and EMPOWER OTHERS.
No Fear
Easy said. Hard lived. Society wants to clip your wings and keep you safe in its cozy enclaves. The world craves freedom, but fears it like a plague. It is so much safer to play the game and sing the song, than step out to a tune not of this world’s making.
“We are God’s masterpiece.” (Ephesians 2:10 NLT)
Get that truth deep in your guts and don’t let go. You are not a cookie cut copy of someone else. A canned response or a safe personality. You are DANGEROUSLY ORIGINAL and have something to say!
The call of a creative is not a safe one. It requires courage to put your heart and talent on the table for people to spit at. But it is a road that gets the blood pumping and heart beating. It is ALIVE with LIFE!
We come alive when we make things!
We bring new things into being!
I have never seen a woman politely birth a child. So why are you so quiet on the page? Scream your words onto virgin white canvas and command the attention of other kindred spirits.
Let the call to REPRESENT CHRIST IN THE ARTS and entertainment world compel you to share and shout. Bust the chains that say it must be done this way or that, and let Heaven’s vibrant, colourful, virile, life-giving rivers gush from your inner man!
