When God created mankind He made them with a purpose. It is something burned into the very DNA of every human being, and a driving force that propels generations to reach beyond their current state and reach for greater heights.
The Word of God is powerful and self fulfilling. When Papa speaks it is as good as done. Especially potent and life producing are His commandments.
At His command the heavens spun into existence, the seas teemed with indescribable abundance, and the earth burst into colourful, explosive, self-generating life.
And right there, in the Garden, beside rivers filled with gold, and innumerable trees laden with fruit, He commanded His first children…
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth… ” Genesis 1:27-28
Fruitfulness is inevitable if we will agree with Papa.
Fullness is unquestionably ours if we make Him our focus.
This I believe is where being the fruitful artist begins.
Real Results are Rooted In Rest
It is not in our frantic activity and ambition that we reach our pinnacle. It is in peace, resting in His command, allowing the power-seeds of supernatural abundance to take root and spring into action.
God already has a blueprint for your fruitfulness and His desire is to multiply your effectiveness and authority in whatever sphere He has called you to.
Biblical rest is not about inactivity, it is about doing only those things we see the Father do. He provides direction, we follow.
As simplistic as it may sound, such simple faith is the starting point for fruitfulness. Often we want to bypass the basics and get our hands dirty with the practics. But let me remind you, it is the one who believes that enters into the realms of impossibility and conquers the odds.
Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” Mark 9:23
Let me encourage you. A barren void of darkness became the world of wonders we now experience when Papa spoke and the Holy Ghost moved. You may even feel like that in your creative endeavours – dark, formless, void. Regardless of where you are at right now, abundance is a Word away. The Father is itching to speak into your circumstances and set your creative world alight!
Planting Seeds
Jesus spoke about Himself as a Vine, and we His branches bearing much fruit.
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” John 15:4-5
Here again we find the artist resting. Abundance results from abiding. Resting in the will and ways of God.
Seriously, Jesus is the most creative Person ever! Don’t you think time in His presence, listening to His instruction, may just unlock some ideas?
Shake It Off
Fellow Christ loving creative, shake yourself alive today!
Shed some self reliance and give consideration to what He can do in and through you if you will allow the sap to flow.
It is counter intuitive to slow down and stop producing for a while, and wait on Him to initiate, but the fruits of it are incomparable.
Too many artists struggle, striving to produce. But the tree isn’t straining to push its leaves in the air and its fruits to the bough. The nourishment flows from the roots and fruits are the natural produce.
You are rooted in Christ.
Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.” Colossians 2:7
I believe, as a Christian artist and writer, that untapped, unadulterated, pure creativity is right at our fingertips.
He lives in us!
Take time to plug into His love, and rest in His presence today. Instead of hustling, try hearing instead. And let the natural flow of life from your inner man produce the abundance you have sought.
